Mohali, October 9, 2026. The Footwear Design and Development Institute and Punjab’s Directorate of Industries and Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding in June 2026 aimed at strengthening workforce skills, research, product testing and entrepreneurship. The agreement brought Mohali’s FDDI into a wider state partnership supporting industry-linked education.
The three-year cooperation framework is expected to cover testing infrastructure, startup incubation and workforce development in footwear, sports goods and associated industries. Such collaborations connect technical instruction with the practical requirements of manufacturers and product developers.
A pathway from training to enterprise
For businesses in and around Mohali, the agreement offers a potential bridge between skilled talent and industry projects. The announcement describes intended areas of cooperation, not a guarantee that every planned facility or initiative has already opened.
